Causes
There are many different causes of Osgood-Schlatter Disease, and they include:
-Repeated overuse of stressful movements such as running or jumping that occur while the knee is still growing.
-Boys are normally effected more than girls, but the numbers are becoming closer because more girls are playing sports.
-sports that usually cause this disease are soccer, basketball, volleyball, and gymnastics.
-Repeated stress can cause the tendon to pull away from the shin bone which results in the pain and swelling below the knee.
